Robert Luzar is an artist, writer and educator living in Bristol, UK.


His works engage 'events' that reflect spaces and actions of ongoing work. He interprets events through forms of tracing, or unconventional drawings, generated through performance, common materials, video, projection, and media both analogue and digital.


Events appear throughout his works as ways of reflecting where and how a 'work' takes place. It is a work that reflects daily life at its most elemental, matter-of-fact, even humorously estranged.


A multiplicity of decisions, a shared bodily ‘point’, an ungrounded trace, seeing and being-seen, clear skies, emptied pages, ineluctable directions or 'pointing'. The multiplicity of making something different – other than what seems at first thought. These are elements and ways through which his works take place.
